This year’s WRECO holiday party luncheon was held at the prestigious Blackhawk County Club. The setting was very cozy, and everyone enjoyed the good food and the company of friends. The night started off with an icebreaker game, followed by lunch, a Photo of the Year contest, and recognition of outstanding WRECO employees. Highlights of the night are pictured below:

WRECO also decided to participate in a Toy Drive this year to help the families in need in Sonoma County.

This year WRECO held the annual company picnic in Orinda at the Orinda Oaks Park.
WRECO staff brought delicious amounts of food to share including tri-tip, hamburgers, sausages, and more!
Even with a scorching heat wave of over 100 that weekend, the annual picnic was loads of fun for all the staff and families.

WRECO’s annual Dress Down Day contest was a hit this year, all the offices participated and WRECO staff enjoyed a day of fun competition on this year’s Dress Down Day. Staff wore a variety of outfits, from tie-dye to fan gear to pajamas in a range of colors.

May 5 is celebrated in both Mexico and America as the Day of the Battle of Puebla, in which the Mexican army defeated the French in 1862. WRECO staff celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a festive Mexican-inspired potluck in Walnut Creek and a trip to a new restaurant in Oakland this year.
In Walnut Creek, staff played foosball, ping pong, and destroying a piñata filled with candy.
In Walnut Creek, the nacho bar turned out to be a huge hit, with Brecken’s homemade margarita mix and Joyce’s watermelon agua fresca being the winners.

Downtown Walnut Creek is the place to be for St. Patrick’s Day!
WRECO staff tried out a new spot for our St. Patrick’s Day company happy hour this year. Though we missed having cheap green beer, we enjoyed the beautiful weather, craft beers, whiskey, and tasty appetizers at Sauced, a local barbecue joint in Walnut Creek. It was a great way to relax and unwind after a hard day at work!

This Valentine’s Day, WRECO staff celebrated by bringing their best baked goods to WRECO’s Annual Valentine’s Day Bake-off. We had a great turn out with 11 employees enter the competition, and everyone loved being able to take a break in the afternoon to eat and judge sweets. We had a wonderful turnout with cookies, fresh baked scones, tiered cakes, and more.
In 2nd place was the trifle pictured below on the right.
1st place went to the chocolate chiffon heart cake baked by April.

This is the year of rooster which is the tenth animal in the Chinese zodiac. People who were born in the year of Monkey are considered to be hardworking, resourceful, courageous, and talented.
WRECO celebrated this year on January 27th with a luncheon at Tomi Restaurant in Concord. The buffet was delicious with steamed buns, sushi, seafood, and desserts.

WRECO held its annual holiday party at the Blackhawk Country Club Ballroom. Thanks to the help of our Events Planning Committee, the night was a success with great food, dancing, fun games, and the silly props from the photo booth. WRECO wishes you a wonderful new year!
